- A research aims to know the bioactivity methanol extract of Balsamina leaf Impatiens balsamina L. against the growth of bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa causes of cantengan. Antibacterial test held with diffusion method in order that medium of Muller Hinton Agar (MHA) with concentrations of the extract to 1%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%. As a positive control used antibiotic of chloramfenicole. Test with phytochemicals screening method which is showed that Balsamina leaf Impatiens balsamina L. contains the antibacterial flavanoid, steroids, saponins, tannins, and quinons compounds. an antibacterial bioactivity with the 24 hours incubation period showed that the greatest antibacterial bioaktivitas of 8% consentrations with 20,2 - 21,2 mm the diameter of barriers against of Staphylococcus aureus and 13,8 - 14,1 mm of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After the 48 hours incubation that the diameter of the zone barriers at the Staphylococcus aureus bacterial increased to 21,3 - 22,4 mm until have the quality of bactheriosydal. However compound bioactivity decreased at Pseudomonas aeruginosa up to no more formed of the zone barrier until have the quality of bactheriostatic.
