- ABSTRACT In the environment discovered some bacteria that are resistant to heavy metal mercury also resistant to some antibiotics. This study aims to isolation the bacteria from sea waters of Losari Beach Makassar who have the power of bacterial resistance to heavy metal mercury (Hg) and resistant to some types of antibiotics that used by public. Isolation of bacteria carried from seawater samples in Losari Beach by using medium Nutrient Agar for Synthetic Sea Water added with 0.0002 mg / ml (0.02 ug / ml HgCl concentration. Furthermore isolates were tasted to of antibiotic-resistant bacteria using paper disc antibiotics (Oxoid) include 10??g Ampicillin, 30??g Novobiocyn, 30??g Chloramphenicol, 75??g Cefoperazone and 5??g Ofloxacin. There was three types of isolates who resistant to mercury (Hg) and antibiotics be obtained that is: RmI isolate was also resistant to 5??g Ofloxacin , RmII isolate was resistant to 10??g Ampicillin and RmIII isolate was resistant to all antibiotics.
