- This paper deals with artificial neural network (ANN) and fuzzy logic based real-time maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control of PV modules. ANN is utilized to determine the estimated optimum voltage of the PV module based on the input of open circuit voltage and cell temperature. The fuzzy logic controller using polar information develops control signal in real-time to keep the dc side voltage of PV module to its estimated optimum one. Development of real-time simulator for the MPPT control of PV modules is also presented. The real-time simulator is very helpful to track down the MPPT on different types of PV modules, even without having the PV modules hardware. Verification through the real-time simulator shows that the proposed controller can respond accurately to any environmental variation in PV module.
