- This study aims to generate renewable energy from the seeds nyamplung(Calophylluminophyllum L.) as a raw material of biodiesel with variations in reaction time on the trans-esterification process to test the density, viscosity and content of %FFA, and view the content of methyl ester. The density obtained during the process of trans-esterification 1 hour = 0,915 gr/cm3, 2 hours = 0,9151 g/cm3 and 3 hours = 0,917 gr/cm3, that value is almost the same. This proves that a long time trans-esterification process does not affect the value of the density for biodiesel. As for the viscosity has been obtained viscosity values with an average of 3,07 N.s/m2 with high viscosity at the time of the trans-esterification of 2 hours are 3,12 N.s/ m2. As for the value of %FFA has met the standard of <2% for up to the trans-esterification process is 1,17315% which has been obtained in the esterification process and results of GC-MS which has been obtained by the value of the content of methyl ester contained in the oil nyamplung as much as 196.06.
