This study aims to determine the effect if either jointly or partial between competency assessment of employees and job performance for promotion on PT Bank Sulselbar Central Office Makassar. It is hoped that information obtained from the company can improve the quality of the promotion policy, and thus more able to enchange the competitiveness of enterprises in the future. This study uses quantitative methods to research the type annotations (explanatoty research) by using primary data and secondary data. The population in this study were employees of PT Bank Sulselbar Central Office Makassar and as many as 111 employees sampled HRD research department. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression and partial by using SPSS 20.0. The result of regression analysis showed that competence employees (X1) and Assessment work performance (X2) and simultaneously have a significant effect on promotion. Assessment work performance is a variable that has a greater influence on promotion and dominant (Y) with a regression coefficient value of 0,645.
