- The purpose of this research was to determine the description of marital satisfaction from married couples in terms of the stages of marriage. This research included 264 people or 132 couples who are at the start of marriage phase, birth of first child phase, and the adolescence of children phase. The sampling technique in this research was convenience sampling. All data processing is carried out using SPSS version 15.0. The results showed marital satisfaction of men and women tend to follow a "U curve". In men and women, the mean values obtained high marital satisfaction in the start of marriage phase and then down at birth of first child phase and back up on adolescence of children phase. Of the comparison of the mean dimensions of marital satisfaction in mind that men and women have the highest mean value on the dimension of financial security and lowest mean values on the dimensions of a feeling that relationship is equal. However, women at the start of marriage phase have the highest mean values on the dimensions of disillusionment. While, men on adolescence of children phase had the highest mean values on the dimensions of disillusionment.
