  • Children with visual impairment is generally called blind children. The meaning is not just those with visual impairments who are blind, but also includes who can see but limited areas and can’t be utilized for daily living, especially studying (Somantri, 2006). Parent woman of children with visual impairments get a major challenge, especially in her role as a caregiver. This research aims to describe of parenting style that is used by parent woman who has blind child aged 6-11 years. Parent woman who has child with visual impairment can have a typical pattern of parenting. The study was conducted with in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews) against four women who have blind children aged 10 to 11 years. The study lasted for 11 months, starting in April 2011 until March 2012. These results indicate that three of four subjects tend to use a permissive parenting style. They are high in affection dimension, but low in control dimension.
