- The objective of this research is to figure how a middle age woman who suffered under lung cancer, to find and to understanding process meaning of life. Meaning of life is a system which is encourage an individual to find something in her life. A meaning of life can be found when someone has suffered from a hopeless circumstances and unfortunate fate that can not be changed. This research is using a qualitative method. The subject of this research is a middle age woman ages around 40-65 years old. The data were collected during October 2009 until July 2010. The result of this research shows that three of the subjects still have their meaning of life even though they had lung cancer. All of the three subjects found their meaning of life because they had encouragement (being loved and respect) from their family and they who those have the same fate of life. This result is matched with life meaning discovery phase, which are suffering phase, self-acceptance phase, life meaning discovery phase, realization and meaning phase, and meaningful life phase.
