- The dead of spouse will cause a reaction such as fear, sadness, anger, and sense of mistrust. Death of a spouse could change of one’s social status into a single parent. Change after the dead of spouse to make the individual needs of social support to increase the resilience in life, so the individual feel cared, loved, and appreciated. This paper is purpose to see the picture of social support of wife whom was left behind of a death spouse that couse by a sudden death. This paper uses qualitative method by in dept interview technique with five subjects in the middle-aged 40-45 years. Subjects left his life partner for between 9 month – 5.5 years and had adolescent. The data interpretation process lasted for 3 months starting on 5 January to 17 April 2011. The aim of this research is getting to know the social support fulfillment and the of type social support from family, friend, and environment. Subjects could also carried out her role as single parent as well.
