- The meaning of life is very important for women with breast cancer in directing their life. If they succeed in finding the meaning of their life, they will find great satisfaction in life despite their suffering of the illness. The objective of this research is to see the meaning of life of grown up women who have breast cancer at stage 3. The characteristics of subjects of this research is middle age women, age between 46 to 58 years whose minimum educational level is elementary grade, fluent in communicating in Bahasa Indonesia, still having a family, and have already gone through series of medical treatments. This research applied qualitative method using in depth interview technique. This research started at 19th March 2006 until 1st September 2006. There were total of 4 subjects who suffered breast cancer. The result of this research is that all four subjects do have meaningful life. This can be seen through their satisfaction in doing all their activities, and also through the feeling of happiness to become people needed by their families.
