- This research aimed to see the meaning of life from physically handicapped person caused by accident. This research used qualitative method with two kinds of technique, in depth interview and observation. There are four subjects in this research, three men and a woman, aged 20-33 years old. There are some stages of finding meaning in life from tragic event. According to Bastaman (1996), the stages are the stage of suffering, self acceptance, founding the meaning of life, realization of meaning in life, and living with a life full of meaning. Meaning of life is very important to be found by everyone. When someone found their meaning of life, their life will be more guided and past life will be a wonderful experience. This research contains every subject’s tragic experience until they live with a life of meaning. All the handicapped have taken the virtue from the accident they experienced when they met others that in more serious problem than them. The purpose in their life are more clear than before. Each handicapped had their own unique purpose in life, but all of them tend to reach the life full of meaning.
