  • Applied parenting style appropriately can increase student achievement motivation in school. The results of previous research about achievement motivation and parenting style there are different results. The aim of this research is to know differences of achievement motivation on high school student in terms of parenting style. This study involved 323 students in West Jakarta. The sampling technique using a non-probability sampling. The result of the data analysis in this study showed a significant difference in achievement motivation on father’s parenting style with value F(3,319) = 11.359, p = 0.000 < 0.05 and mother’s parenting style with value F(3,319) = 10.330, p = 0.000 < 0.05. Students with authoritative parenting style have high achievement motivation compared with the three other parenting. Thus the achievement motivation of high school student is influenced by parenting style.
