- This study aimed to investigate the influence of marital conflict on marital satisfaction in young adult couples. The hypothesis was that marital conflict resolution stage influenced marital satisfaction. This study involved 100 young adult couples, at least 3 years of marriage, stayed in West Jakarta, and had resolved their marital conflict with the perception each husband and wife. Subject retrieval technique was using non-probability sampling, using the accidental technique. Using regression analysis techniques, this study showed that: marital conflict resolution stage influenced marital satisfaction. The direct influence of marital conflict resolution stage to marital satisfaction was 24.2%, the first stage of marital conflict resolution (Agenda building) was influencing the marital satisfaction for about 63.3%, the second stage of marital conflict resolution (Arguing) was influing the marital satisfaction for about 21.7 %. However, the last stage (Negotiation) of marital conflict resolution did not influence the marital satisfaction.
