- This research was conducted to describe how social workers who handle cases of violence on women and children overcome the stress faced, especially secondary traumatic. There were four subjects women social workers who are aged between 23-35 years. The subjects who had worked at least more than three years and had a bachelor of welfare social science. This research started at April 2010 until June 2010. Strategy coping using Carver, Weintraub, and Scheier theory. The result of this research is all subject had experiencing secondary trauma. Strategy coping used by all subject are planning, seeking social support for emotional reasons, acceptance, and turning to religion.
