- Altruistic behaviour is defined as a behaviour form of helping other people without expecting anything in return. The purpose of this research is to recognize the distinction between altruistic behaviour of social workers in government’s and private’s retirement home in DKI Jakarta region. Total subject of this research is 146 people, consist of 77 people of social workers in government’s retirement home and 69 people of social workers in private’s retirement home. Location of this research is the entire government’s retirement home and five private’s retirement home. The research’s design applied is comparison test and data being analyzed with SPSS 13.0 program. According to the result of comparison test, F equals to 0.609 and p equals to 0.436 > 0.05, hence it is considered that both variances are equivalent. Therefore, it is concluded that t with equal variances assumed is 1.687 and p is 0.094 > 0.05. This means that there is no distinction between altruistic behaviour of social workers in government’s and private’s retirement home.
