- It is not easy to take care of the elder people because it needs patience and carefulness. A lot of nurse experience a stressful job especially nurse who works in nursing home for elderly people because the quantity of nurse unequal with the quantity of the older people. The job stress is coming from the negative attitude of the elder people, work overload, conflict with colleague, a minimum wage, unsatisfied work’s facility, and role conflict. In order to overcome the job stress, nurse use problem focused coping and emotional focused coping. This experimental study involves four women who have an age of 40 to 50 years, with educational background until elementary school, and have been worked in nursing home in Jakarta for one year at least. This experimental is done using interview method since February until May 2008. The result of this experimental is the subjects have job stress and do coping stress especially planful problem solving.
