- Man's adjustment after having lost his wife due to death will work well, if the widower man is able to cope with the problems arising after his wife's death. The problems that commonly arise are, among other things, grief responses (such as sadness, guilty, and disbelief) household chores, andchildren rean'ng problems. This research attempts to answer such a question: How is the adiustment of middleaged men who lose their wife due to death? The theory employed is: Adjustment theory, eSpecially the sound one from Haber and Runyon (1984). This research uses a profound interview method and takes place within a 5-months time span, dating back 8 October 2002 20 February 2003. There are 5 subjects of middle-aged widowers who are unmarried again. Viewed from Haber and Runyon's (1984) theory, noneof the su biects could meet all characteristics of sound adjustment.
