- Coping stress is a thing done by individual to deal with stress or suppresive situation of which exceeding one's adaptation capability, whether it is in the form of thought or in the form of behavior. ln his / her attempt to deal with stress, that individual sometimes need supports from others. This research was want to know the correlation between social support and coping stress of factory labours. Social support is a support given by someone to others in the form of information, suggestion, attention, appreciation, or real assistance in the form of services or materials. Subject amount in this research was 100 oeople. Subjects examined were PT. Tonikitex's factory labours located in Jatake, age oetween 20 to 35 years, with minimum formal education of junior high school, has already been working for minimal 1 year, working on the production division, and . working on one of all shift. Data was obtained from quetionnaires then correlated with pearson product moment correlation technique, utilized by SPSS 11,00 for windows. The result of this research was medium positive relation between perception about social support and problem focused coping and weak positive relation between perception about social support and emotion focused coping.
