- The goal of this research is to see the relationship between perception of social support with stress among adolescence who suffer from diabetes mellitus. Perception is defined as the ways of an individual to interpret the obtained information based on self understanding. Social support is an interrelated exchanged information between two individuals for the sake of the well being of the receiver of the information. Stress develops as a natural response toward bodily tension, pressure, and life changes. Social support in managing stress in individual is influenced by the perception of the individual toward the self. The total of the subject of this research is 93, and data collection was conducted by using questionnaire. Data analysis uses Spearman correlation technique with SPSS 12.0 for windows. The result of this research shows that the significancy value Rs (93) = 0,346, ρ > 0,05, which indicates that there doesn’t have significant correlation between perception of social support with stress among adolescence who suffer from diabetes mellitus.
