  • Sorption into iron-oxide coated sand is promising technology for removal of the dissolved heavy metal fraction in the heavy metal solution. The objective of this research was-to study the effect of temperature upon to mass transfer coefficient of heavy metals in solution to adsorben (kca). The experiment was carried out in a stirred batch flask. lron-oxide coated sand was contacted with heavy metal solution (Zn and CrY at constant temperature. Samples was drawn at certain times and the remaining heavy metal contentration was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed that the temperature had significant effect to the mass-transfer coefficient and could be expressed as : kea = 1O69.34.ex{ - 33~1.9) for Cr solutions .1 2443.6 )kea = 133. 18.ex1.. - T for Zn solutions The relative errors were 10.49 % and 4.88 %, respectively.
