  • The objectives of this research are 1) to find out a significant effect difference between model media and picture media on students’ learning achievement in Natural science, 2) to examine an effect difference of students’ motivation on their learning achievement in Natural science, and 3) to know effect of interaction between the two learning methods and students’ learning motivation on their achievement in natural Science. This research was carried out at state elementary schools in Manyaran Subdistrict, Wonogiri, in 2008/2009 academic year. The research employs an experimental method with 2 x 2 factorial design. The population oh the study were fifth graders of state elementary schools in Manyaran Subdistrict. The samples of the research were 60 students selected with cluster random sampling technique. A test was administered to obtain data about students’ achievement and a questionnaire was used to gather data about their learning motivation. The instrument was validated with Karl Pearson’s Product Moment correlation. Its reliability was tested using KR-20 formula. The research data were analyzed with variance analysis (ANAVA) followed by t-test. Result of data analysis indicate the followings. First, there is an effect difference between model media and picture media on students’ learning achievement in Natural science (F1 = 11.73 > F table (0.95, 1 ; 56 = 4.02). the average score obtained by students employing the model media was 73,1 and the average score obtained by the students employing the picture media was 64.60. Second, there is a significant effect difference between the students with high learning motivation and those with low learning motivation on their learning achievement in natural Science (F2 = 27.85 > F table (0.95, 1 ; 56 = 4.02). The average obtained by the students with high learning motivation was 75.833 and the average score obtained by the students with low learning motivation was 61.867. Third, there is an effect of interaction between the two learning media and students’ learning motivation on their achievement in Natural Science (F1,2 = 6,73 > F table = 4.02) indicating that the fifth graders with height learning motivation find the model media effective in enhancing their learning achievement in Natural science
