- ABSTRACT STRUCTURE ANALYSIS OF POLYCRYSTAL GRAPHITE USING AN ELECTRON DIFFRACTION METHOD BY EMPLOYING THE ELECTRON DIFFRACTION TUBE TELTRON 2555 Yuli Marhendra Kristianing M.0299011 The measurement of ring diameter as a result of electron diffraction with carbon as atom target on an electron diffraction tube teltron 2555 at the laboratory of physics, main laboratory of FMIPA Sebelas Maret University Surakarta has been done. The electron diffraction methode is one of the methode used to find out the structure of crystal. On this research electron diffraction on graphite executed to find out the structure, type, and the miller index. Measurement ring diameter as a result of diffraction execute on voltage between 3-5 KV. Electron diffraction tube of shape of ball at radius at 6,6 cm is used and the distance between material and screen is 13 cm. The plane distance of the carbon atom of graphite at the same layer is ) 03 , 0 974 , 1 ( ± Ǻ corresponds to the plane with miller index [102] and plane distance of the carbon atom of graphite at the different layer is ) 017 , 0 144 , 1 ( ± Ǻ corresponds to the plane with miller index [112]. The shape of graphite crystal structure is hexagonal.
