Agriculture Faculty Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. This experiment has been done in rice field land of Siliran V village, Galur district, Kulonprogo regency, Yogyakarta. The study was started from April 2007 to August 2007, and the aim of this experiment is to know effect of K fertilizer dan zeolite application at sandy soil of south coastal, area Kulonprogo. Research design was used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) . With 2 factor as main plots and sub plot combination. Every treatment was repeated 3 times, Therefore they have 10 treatment combination. The result of study was shown that application of K fertilizer and zeolite were given significant effect to chemical and fertility soil properties. Which were soil pH, CEC, K total, K available nutrient and potassium uptake by plant. There is no significant effect on interaction of K and zeolite application. The increasing of potash fertilizer was given high significant to K uptake. While zeolite application was given. Significant effect also to the improving chemical soil properties. Whereas, increasing of K fertilizer and zeolite application were not given significant effect to the dry matter yield (biomass) Keywords : K fertilizer , zeolite, K availability, K uptake
