- The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) presence or absence of differences in the influence of the implementation of Compact Disk Interactive media and conventional learning using OHP to the achievement of IPA/ Physics students, (2) presence or absence of differences in the influence of high and low motivation students to learn Science/ Physics and (3) the presence or absence of interaction effect of the learning media usage and motivation toward students achievement in science/ Physics. This study is an experimental method to solve the problem. The population in this study were four Junior High Schools in District Kalasan, Sleman academic year 2010/ 2011. The sample in this study were taken using random cluster sampling technique. Grade VIII students from two of four junior high schools in Kalasan was taken as a sub-population with random cluster sampling. By random cluster sampling technique it was obtained 4 groups. These groups were selected from four junior high schools. Two groups as research class or as an experimental class were a class VIII/ D Junior High School 1 Kalasan and Junior High School 3 Kalasan, while two more groups of the class VIII/ C SMP 2 Kalasan and SMP Negeri 4 Kalasan as controlled class. Data was collected using questionnaires for student learning motivation variables, therefore test techniques applied for questions of student achievement on the subject of light. Data analysis techniques using Two Way Analysis of Variance unpaired cells to the analysis of the prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity, with research significance level of 5%. Based on this research it was concluded: (1) there are differences in the influence of the implementation of the Compact Disk Interaktif media and conventional learning using the OHP on learning achievement in science / Physics year (Fa= 6. 27 with P- Value= 0. 013< 0. 05), (2) there are differences of influence in high motivation and low motivation toward learning achievement (Fb= 28. 23 with a P- value= 0. 0000< 0. 05) and (3) there is an interaction effect of the application of instructional media and learning motivation toward learning achievement in science/ Physics (Fab= 5. 56 with P- Value= 0020< 0. 05).
