  • Abstract Each design of hydraulic structure needs information of discharge flow. It can be obtained from measuring the velocity within specified time. In practice, this information was less concern. Beside that, data acquisitions in the river often meet many difficulties in obtaining a good data at whole width of river. In this research the measurement is done using gauge currentmeter. Measurement uses Point Integrated Sampling (PIS) method. The first step begins with selecting section of properties, measuring water temperature, and sloping water surface perpendicular to the streamline. The measurement is conducted at 1/2B, then to edge at 3/8B, 2/8B, 1/8B and 1/16 B. Some parameters from literature and laboratory are needed to compare and correct result from site. The results show that the maximum value of velocity distribution is close to water level at vertical direction and to center of section (1/2 B) at perpendicular to the streamline. The average velocity is obtained at vertical direction with Y/D 0,45 and perpendicular to the streamline is Z/B 0,27. Keywords: PIS, velocity distribution
