- Background: At the moment the tendency of an increasing number of people with mental disorders, even the Word Health Organization (WHO) in admin (2007) asserts that mental disorders have even become a serious problem worldwide. According to the WHO report in 2001 about 450 million people worldwide suffer from a mental disorder and about 1% of the population are in need of help and treatment conditions for various types of mental disorders Objective: To determine the relationship of knowledge to the ability of families in caring for clients with mental disorders perception disturbances (hallucinations) at home in Public heath Mapilli Methods: Descriptive Quantitative descriptive study design that uses the analytic approach Cross Sectional Study. This research method, the total sample was obtained a sample of 16 samples. Data obtained by using questionnaires and analyzed statistically using Chi Square test with significance value = 0.05. Results: Statistical analysis showed that knowledge (p = 0.021) no significant relationship between the knowledge of the family's ability to care for clients with mental disorders perception disturbances (hallucinations) at home. Conclusion: The family is the "primary caregivers" at home. The family plays a role in determining how or the necessary care clients at home. The success of a hospital nurse can be wasted if we do not continue in the house which then causes the client to be nursed back (relapse). Family knowledge about mental illness in the family's ability to support client care to treat mental disorders, treat and serve people with mental disorders in the house.
- Latar belakang : Pada saat ini kecenderungan peningkatan jumlah penderita gangguan jiwa, bahkan Word Health Organization (WHO) dalam admin (2007) menegaskan bahwa gangguan jiwa telah manjadi masalah serius diseluruh dunia. Menurut laporan WHO tahun 2001 sekitar 450 juta penduduk dunia menderita gangguan jiwa dan sekitar 1% dari seluruh penduduk dunia berada dalam kondisi membutuhkan pertolongan dan pengobatan untuk berbagai jenis gangguan jiwa. Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dengan kemampuan keluarga dalam merawat klien gangguan jiwa dengan gangguan persepsi (Halusinasi) di rumah di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mapilli. Metode Penelitian : Deskriptif Kuantitatif yang menggunakan Desain penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional Study. Penelitian ini dengan metode total sampel maka di peroleh sampel sebanyak 16 sampel. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara statistika dengan menggunakan uji Chi Square dengan nilai kemaknaan = 0,05. Kesimpulan : Keluarga merupakan “perawat utama” dirumah. Keluarga berperan dalam menentukan cara atau asuhan yang diperlukan klien di rumah. Keberhasilan perawat di rumah sakit dapat sia-sia jika tidak diteruskan di rumah yang kemudian mengakibatkan klien harus dirawat kembali (kambuh). Pengetahuan keluarga tentang gangguan jiwa mendukung kemampuan keluarga dalam merawat klien gangguan jiwa dengan merawat, memperlakukan dan melayani penderita gangguan jiwa di rumah.
