- Many factors can be used as a benchmark of educational success. One way is to see the success of the learning process in achieving its objectives. Another very important factor today is the motivation of a learner in order to prepare him / her to start a teaching and learning process. Relationship to motivation, it is very often encountered mainly in the scope of lectures. As it is in the present reality that most of the reasons a mahasisiwa come to the lecture is just to fill the attendance list or attendance. Especially for courses that they think are not in line with the courses they tekuni, automatically by itself they just underestimate the course.To know how the strategy of improving student's learning motivation and knowing the best method used in the strategy of improving student's motivation to learn in the course of Numerical Method among students of Mathematics Education STKIP Tuanku Tambusai, the research method used is qualitative method by looking at various point of view that is method teaching the lecturers concerned and the motivation of students in following the lectures. In the learning activities, motivation can be said as the overall driving force within the student that raises, ensuring continuity and provide direction learning activities, so hopefully the goal can be achieved. For that, motivation is given to students starting from the beginning of learning, at the core stage of learning until the end of learning.
