- In geographic, Batang Arau basin is in 0o48"-0o56"SL dan 100o21"-100o33"EL with elevation 0-1.210m above the sea level. Batang Arau is the main river in Batang Arau basin, which the water resource come form lubukparaku river, Padang IDas River, and Lubuk Sarik River. The aim of this study is maping the areas of flooding runoff. the factor of affecting of the flooding runoff are the pgysic of area runoff. like land use, type of soil and topography of catchment area. the classification of flooding runoff use parameters such as slope, geomorphology, land cover, and type of soil with scoring and overlay, that make the result are extreme, high, normal, and poor. the data result are the poor area is about 151.097 Ha at south padang and north padang, the normal area is 3286,937 ha at padang city. the high area is 6676,465 ha at lubuk kilangan and extrime area is 7353,025 ha at Pauh
