- System development which focuses in the use of Information Technology isthe basic foundation for an organization to improve its efficiency andeffectivity. The use of Information Technology is hoped to increase itsability to compete with other organizations.When an organization wants to implement a new technology or system, itcan use Enterprise Architecture to define various processes running in it.Enterprise Architecture is able to define the existing system andinformation technology as well as to provide the guideline for anorganization in making a good decision when investing in the area ofinformation technology.Zachman Framework is one of the theories of Information SystemModeling which can be used to describe Enterprise Architecturecompletely. Thus, Zachman Framework can be used to support thedefinition process in an organization.Zachman Framework’s information system modeling is implemented in thefaculty of Information Technology at Maranatha Christian UniversityBandung. The analysis includes: What column, How column, Wherecolumn, Who column, When column, and Why column. What columndescribes a list of business entities and academic system related data.How column defines the academic business process. Where columndescribes a major business location. Who column describes humanresources of the organization. When column describes major events andWhy column defining business strategy and long term planning of theFaculty.The final result of Zachman Framework implementation in the faculty ofInformation Technology at Maranatha Christian University will produce anenterprise architecture documentation for 2006 / 2007 odd term. Thedocument can be used as a base for technology related investment.
