- Nearly 90 percent of people in the central highlands of Aceh Province livelihoods depend on a coffee plantation, where coffee is produced known as Gayo coffee. The purpose of this study to see the impact of commodity Gayo coffee on the socio-economic life of the people in the central highlands. Types of research methods used in this study is qualitative data collection techniques using interview techniques and literature. The results of this study show that the Gayo coffee commodity society can not prosper the central highlands.
