  • This article aims at describing the letters of Muhammad, but it doesntuse codicology approach. The object of the study is not only manuscripts, butalso use hadith that consist of letters-zakat of Muhammad (letters of hadith) andhis statements about zakat (non-letters of hadith). Both types of hadith areanalyzed to explain their contents about zakat. The result is that Muhammadpreached zakat and gave its details. Non-letters of hadith contained a lot ofpushing sahabat in order to pay zakat and its detail guidance. Letters of hadithcontained agreements with people who received letters and gave guidance interm of zakat detailedly. Letters of hadith, as long as conversing about detailzakat were strengthened by some statements of sahabat. Both types of thosehadith equipped each other.
