  • This research is a comparative analysis of students’ errors in Narrative writing in Natural and Social science programmes. It is focused on Linguistic errors made by students in both programmes. It is aimed at knowing the different errors made by students in both programmes in terms of Linguistic errors of Narrative writing. It used comparative method which finds the differences and similarities of errors produced by students in grade XI of Natural and Social science programmes. The population of this research was all students of grade XI in Natural science and Social science programmes at SMAN 4 Mataram academic year 2009/2010. There were two classes as a sample of this research those were XI IPA 1 and XI IPS 2. The result of this research shows that the dominant errors made by students in both programmes were Interlingual Omission errors which were shown in the percentage of errors that is 61,29% in Natural science programme and 50% in Social science programme. The percentages of errors in both programmes shows that students in Social as well as Natural science programme produced the same dominant errors in writing Narrative although the number of errors is different.
