- nfection of the genitourinary tract is one of the significant problem in public health. Candidiasis is the most common vaginal infection with Candida albicans as the major cause. One of the traditional medicine that is often used by people to treat vaginal discharge due to candidiasis is mixture of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.) extract. The purpose of this study is to determine the anticandida effect and the effect of the concentration ratio mixture of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.) extract on the growth of Candida albicans. Methods : This study was an experimental research that uses post test only control group design. This study comprises: 7 sample groups, which is 2 control groups and 5 treatment groups. The control groups were given distilled water as a negative control and nystatin as positive control. The treatment groups were given 100% extract of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.), extract of mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.)100% and 3 groups were given mixture of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.) extract with a ratio of 75%:25% , 50%:50% , 25%:75%, respectively. The Kirby Bauer Well Method was performed in this study. Results : Based on the analysis of variance, the mixture of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.) extract had significant (p < 0.05) anticandida effects. The most effective anticandida inhibitory effect treatment were : (1) mixture of soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garciana mangostana L.) extract with a ratio of 25%:75% and (2) treatment of 100% of mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) extract. Conclusion : There were anticandida effect of combined soursop leaf (Annona mucirata L.) and mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) extract on the inhibition growth of Candida albicans by in vitro.
