  • This research aims to discover the effect of scaffolding causalitic-thinking approach toward creative thinking in harmony vibration problem-solving at tenth grade students. The type of this study is quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research is all students of X MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Mataram with X MIPA 2 as the experimental class and X MIPA 4 as control class were chosen as the sample by using cluster random sampling. The experimental class was given scaffolding causalitic-thinking approach, while the control class was given conventional learning as the treatment. The data of creative thinking were collected from problem-solving test. Based on the research finding, it is found that the average score of students’ creative thinking in experimental class is 47,12 and control class is 35,78. The data of students’ creative thinking of both classes were homogen and normal distributted. It was analyzed by using t- test polled varians and it is found that tcount is 2,77. The value of ttable for creative-thinking ability data is 1,99 with significant rate (5%). The value of tcount > ttable means that there is an effect of scaffolding causalitic-thinking toward creative thinking ability in students’ problem-solving.
