On the other&#xD; hand, the fossil fuel resource is deflating dramatically. This phenomenon drives many&#xD; efforts to maintain and reserve the fuel resources and reduce the harmful exhaust emission&#xD; from the vehicles. This research aims to investigate the influences of duration of camshaft to&#xD; the exhaust gas emission and fuel consumption of an engine.&#xD; The camshaft durations investigated are 210&#xB0;, 280&#xB0; and 330&#xB0; in a single cylinder&#xD; motorcycle engine to the exhaust emission. The engine speeds are 1500, 3000, 4500 and&#xD; 6000 rpm. The exhaust emission and fuel consumption is taken at all the level of&#xD; transmission.&#xD; The result shows that the higher camshaft duration increases the exhaust gas emission&#xD; HC and fuel consumption of the engine. However, the CO emission reduces. The highest fuel&#xD; consumption is achieved at 330&#xB0; camshaft duration and 6000 rpm (0.97 l/h). The highest HC&#xD; emission is 989.67 ppm at 330&#xB0; camshaft duration.
