- This study was aimed to analyze (1) the kinds of vocabualry errors in writing produced by the students and (2) the possible causes of vocabualry errors produced by the students at XI IIS in SMAN 2 Labuapi. This study was conducted on the students at XI IIS in SMAN 2 Labuapi in academic year 217/218. All of students at XI IIS as population and the students consist of 24 students by applying purposive sampling technique with qualitative descriptive method. A test is the instrument that is used. In the test, I used 3 questions such as the first question is ask the students to write a daily activity the second and the third question is describing some pictures . From the data it was found the vocabulary errors produced by the students are spelling with 63 errors 55.75% and word choice diction with 5 errors 44.24%. Meanwhile, the possible causes of vocabulary errors produced by the students are intralingual errors and interlingual errors.
