- This research aims to discover the effect of the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) on the improvement of students’ descriptive writing skill at grade X of MA NW Ketangga. The research design is experimental study. There are two group in this design; experimental and control group. The sampling technique is random sampling which means each subject or unit has an equal chance of being selected. The techniques of data collecting in this research were documentation and testing. Data was analyzed by using t-test formula and t-table. The finding shows that t-test value was higher than t-table in the confidence level .05 but not in the confidence level of 01 with degree of freedom (df) 50. It reveals that PWIM strategy is effective on the students’ ability in writing descriptive text but not significantly so.
