  • NIM. E1D011034 The aim of this research was to find out the effect of TPS (Think-Pair-Share) technique in teaching writing narrative text. This research used an experimental design in which it used two group designs: experimental group and control group, each of whom consists of 21 students. The sampling technique of this research was population sampling (all population involved as sample). The data was collected through pre-test, treatments, and post-test. Experimental group was treated by using TPS technique, while the control group was treated using the conventional teaching technique. The finding shows that t-test value was higher than t-table. 3.949 > 2.021 at significant level .05 in degree of freedom (df) 40. It means that the Null hypothesis (Ho) which stated that “There is no significant effect of using TPS technique on the improvement of students’ writing performance in producing narrative text” was rejected. While the Alternate Hypothesis (Ha) that “There is a significant effect of using TPS technique on the improvement of students’ writing performance in producing narrative text” was accepted. It shows that TPS technique gave significant effect on students’ writing performance in producing narrative text at second grade students of MA. Tarbiyatul Mustafid in academic year 2015/2016.
