Mataram University in Academic Year 2014/2015</title><creator>RAMDHANY, Risma</creator><subject>PE English</subject><description>This research aimed to investigate students’ perception towards the
effectiveness of lecturer feedback in developing students academic writing and kinds
of feedback given inside the academic writing class. The research design is case
study. The subject of this research is students in the fourth semester which are consist
of 198 students who have finished the academic writing class. The sampling
technique was purposive sampling which meant to focus on the units that are
investigated based on the judgment of the researcher. The class 4A which was
consisting of 15 students was chosen as the sample. The data in this study were
gained through questionnaire and interview. The result of this study showed that the
feedbacks given in the class were: direct feedback, indirect feedback, focuses
feedback, oral feedback and conference feedback. All of the students agree that the
feedback given by the students was effective. However, students show different
reason over it. 30.7% students think that the feedbacks were to help them figure out
their mistakes, 15.2% students think that the feedbacks help them in correcting their
mistakes. 15.6% students think that the feedbacks help them improve their writing but
