- The aim of this study was analyzed the three types of deixis using George Yule (1996) theory which divided into three types: person, spaial and temporal deixis. And how the deixis types affect the meaning of whole lyrics of Maroon 5 Red Pill Blues album. This album was selected as a subject of analysis because the popularity the song that contained in the album and also it consisted of such as deictic words. This study applied descriptive qualitative method to answer two questions stated in the research questions. The data were taken from the transcript of the song lyrics. The results of this study were indicated that there are found 144 data of deixis in the song lyrics which 67 or in 46.6% data of them were person deixis, 21 (14.6%) spatial deixis and 55 (38.2%) temporal deixis. It also found how deixis affect the meaning of the whole lyrics with clearly who was talked, where and when it happen.
