  • Background: Low Density Lipoprotein-Cholesterol (LDL-C) is one of the lipoproteins which has more cholesterol than other lipoproteins. In patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), an increase in LDL-C levels is associated with progression of atherosclerosis. A gensini score is a scoring system which assesses vascular scores and stenosis to see the severity of CAD. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between LDL-C levels and gensini scores in patients with CAD in Mataram Regional General Hospital. Method: This research was a cross-sectional study conducted at Mataram Regional General Hospital. The research subjects in this study amounted to 45. The main variables in this study were LDL-C and gensini score. The test used in this study was a spearman correlation test. Results: 93.3% of patients had optimal LDL-C levels and 62.2% of patients had severe CAD calculated using the gensini score. There is a negative correlation between LDL-C levels and the severity of CAD as measured by the gensini score in Mataram Regional General Hospital. Conclusion: There is a negative correlation between LDL-C levels and the severity of CAD as measured by the gensini score in Mataram Regional General Hospital.
