- This particular investigation is aimed at finding out the use of Cooperative Learning Technique (Jigsaw) in increasing students’ writing skill ability at seven grade students of SMPN 10 Mataram in academic year 2010/2011. There were 34 students in VII.E class. This research was a Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles. Cycle 1 and cycle 2 were conducted in two meetings, respectively. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative and quantitative method in analyzing student’s test result. Qualitative method was used to analyze the observation result, and quantitative method was used to analyze the students test result. The percentage of students who passed from cycle 1 to cycle 2 was increased. The progress from cycle 1 to cycle 2 was 14.12 %. There were 27 students who passed in cycle, increased from 20 students in cycle 1 and 27 students in cycle 2. The mean sore increased from 65.29 to 70. Finally, this research could reach the minimum target (KKM) of 65 and percentage of learning achievement 70%.
