  • Agricultural products that often had post-harvest damage are grain, one of that was maize. To maintain the quality and value of agricultural products then dry method was used. Artificial drying was a drying alternative that can be done without depend on the weather by used a mechanical or artificial dryer. This study was conducted used a fluidized bed dryer with heat exchanger pipes.The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of air temperature and mass of maize toward dried time and dried efficiency by varying the air temperature and mass of maize in the dried process. The result of this study showed at a temperature of 65°C and a mass of 0.2 kg produces the fastest dried process that was 12 minutes 50 seconds to reach 14 % moisture content. While at the temperature of 55°C and a material mass of 0.6 kg it becomes a variation that requires the longest dried timed process that was 38 minutes to reach a moisture content of 14%, with constant air speed of 7 m/s. The highest dried efficiency occurs at a temperature variation of 65°C with a material mass of 0.4 kg that was 21,12 %. And the lowest at temperature 55°C with a load mass of 0.6 kg, which is 8,25 %.
