- This thesis entitled A Study on the Tourist Guides’ English Speaking Ability in Gili Air of North Lombok was intended to find out the English speaking ability of the tourist guide in Gili Air, Pemenang, North Lombok. It involved 10 tourist guides as the representations which were chosen by using purposive random sampling. The data were collected using interview technique and analyzed using quantitative method. From the analysis it is found that there were 70% of the respondents categorized as category GOOD with rating scale 4, and 30% categorized as category FAIR with rating scale 3. Therefore, in general, the tourist guides’ speaking ability in Gili Air was categorized as GOOD category.
