- Implementation of fiscal decentralization in Indonesia has been more than a decade. The benefit of fiscal decentralization should be known clearly. Research on the impact of fiscal decentralization to macroeconomic stability are generally inconclusive. This study is aimed to analyze the impact of fiscal decentralization on macroeconomic stability in Indonesia. To reach the goals, this study used fixed effect panel method. The analysis is based on the time series annual data covering the period 2009 – 2013 toward 33 province in Indonesia. Based on the descriptive analysis of macroeconomic stability variables showed in 2013, most major MI index is Banten Province while the lowest is in West Sulawesi Province. Based on that index, province of Banten is a province that has a macroeconomic instability are the highest, while the high level of macroeconomic stability that occurs in West Sulawesi. In addition, the study also found evidence that fiscal decentralization positive impact on macroeconomic stability but not significant. Indications of this finding is that the relationship between fiscal decentralization and macroeconomic stability did not show a strong relationship.
