- Compared with previous elections, regulation on 30% quota of women representation in election Jaws looks more detailed, particularly after KPU in its provision adopted the regulation as one of conditionalities that must be fulfilled by political parties as election contestants. At the provincial level, many parties are still not ready yet to implement the provision. Therefore, it is important to know the realization of 30% quota of women representation of legislative candidates (DPRD) in the 2014 elections, through a qualitative research. Data was collected through an open interview with informants or resource persons, namely women candidates, those who run for the first time or the incumbents, as well as academicians in the Bali and North Sulawesi Provinces. Research finding shows that of 12 parties, majority can meet the quota requirement for women legislative candidate. Of particular note, there is a party in the two provinces which has women representaton 50%.
