- Keyword: Teacher Pedagogical Competence The purpose of this research was to know the problems in pedagogical competence of English teacher of Vocational High School in Pekanbaru. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The qualitative data were collected through observation and interview. The respondent was the English teacher of Vocational High School in Pekanbaru. In this research, observed the teacher pedagogical competence in teaching Mastering the Characteristics of Learners, Dominate Learning Theory and Principles of Learning That Educated, The Development of Curriculum, The Learning Activities that Educated, The Development Potential of Learners, Communicative with Learners, Assessment and Evaluation. Then, English teacher also was interviewed some questions to support the research data. Based on the result of data analyzed, it was found that English teacher of Vocational High School in Pekanbaru got high percentage of pedagogical competence in Learning Activities that Educated aspect. It can be seen from the result of teacher 37,7%. Beside that in Development of Curriculum aspect, the English teacher got 13,3 %. It means that, the problem of English teacher in pedagogical competence is the development of curriculum aspect when teaching and learning process.
