- This research was conducted to enhance the writing ability through picture for grade VIII students at MTsN Model Sorong in the academic year of 2017/2018. This research was a classroom action research. It consisted of two cycles. The researcher worked collaboratively with observer in implementing the actions. The data of this research were qualitative and also quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained by observing the teaching and learning process during the implementation of the actions, while the quantitative data were gained through assessing students’ ability in writing, there were a pre-test and a post-test. The results of this research showed that the implementation of picture as a media in the writing classes was believed to be effective to improve students’ ability in writing expression. Picture helped the students to generate ideas. They could manage the time for writing more effectively and perform the writing task more maximally. This implies that the implementation of picture as a media in the writing gives positive effects on improving students’ achievement in writing expression. It can be seen by the mean score at the pretest 37.33 but in cycle 2 for the posttest, the mean score is higher 71.41. So, by using this media, the students could feel at ease in performing the writing task.
- Penelitian ini di laksanakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis melalui gambar pada siswa kelas 8 di MTsN Model Sorong pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus. Peneliti bekerja sama dengan pengamat dalam pelaksanaan tindakan. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan kualitatif dan kuantitatif data. Kualitatif data diperoleh dari pengamatan proses belajar mengajar, sementara kuantitatif data diperoleh dari penilaian kemampuan siswa dalam menulis, seperti pretest (tes awal) dan posttest (tes akhir). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan mengajar dengan media gambar efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis Expression. Gambar pun daapat membantu siswa dalam menghasilkan sebuah ide. Murid dapat mengatur waktu untuk menulis dengan efektif dan lebih maksimal. Dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan gambar sebagai media memberikan dampak positif untuk meningkatkan prestasi siswa dalam menulis Expression. Dapat dilihat juga pada hasil rata-rata awal siswa pada tes awal yaitu 37.33 dan meningkat pada rata-rata siswa di tes akhir menjadi 71.41. Jadi, dengan menggunakan media ini, murid dapat dengan mudah mengerjakan tugas menulis.
