- Abtract : This article examines the stream of folk arts at Kedu regency of the Central Java, beginning from its function as a private or public entertainment to ist political objective. Its existance is still needed by the local community that maintains its sustainability. The continuity of this folk art at Kedu regency is internally supported by the local community and externally by the government. Kedu people’s initiative to promote their arts is a local method to maintain and conserve their own folk arts.
