- Introduction: Optimal infant growth and development is very important in supporting health status of infants. It can be done through several ways, one of them is by giving stimulations. Early mother’s perceptions about the stimulations of infant growth and development as a parent is highly important to be identified in order to get idea about the readiness of early mothers regarding their functions and roles. An early mother, in playing role, highly needsfamily supports as the closest people. Method: This research aims to get the description of early mother’s perceptionson thestimulations on infantgrowth and development using fameliy-based maternal sensitivity models as the research approach. The research design was participatory research approaches (qualitative) and Participatory Action Reseacrh (PRA). The techniques of data collection was Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and indept interview with 50early mothers as the participants in Regional Health Center of Sumbersari and Sukorambi Jemberwho had babies. The sampling was done by using purposive sampling in March-August 2016. The data werethen analyzed using descriptive and qualitative methods. Results: Perceptions of early mothers with babies aged 0-12 months in recognizing the growth and development as well as the stimulation was still not optimal. Family perceptions related to growth and development and how infant stimulation in detail according to the stages had not yet optimally understood. In general, early mothers and families have a sense of joy in the presence of the baby in their family, and the family (husband) actively participates ingiving their supports for baby care. Discussion: The early mothers with family supports is suggested to do the stimulations inoptimizing infant growth and development.
